newly
released
book
and prints

the
life
of Kateri
Tekakwitha,
a Native
American
woman
living
in upstate
New
York
in the
1600s.
Kateri,
“the
Lily
of the
Mohawks”
was
Beatified by Pope
John
Paul
II on
June
22, 1980
and,
if canonized,
will
be the
first Native
American
woman
to achieve
Saintly
status. The book
is beautifully
illustrated
with
twenty-one
full
color
images
from
an altar
screen
that
Giovanna
was
commissioned
to paint
for
St. John
the
Baptist
Church
at Ohkay
Owingeh
Pueblo
in New
Mexico,
the
oldest
Parish
in the
United
