Best in 34 categories from 67 judges statewide

Clear Light Book Gallery and the New Mexico Book Co-Operative are holding a New Year Book Fair on Saturday, January 31, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Clear Light Book Gallery Annex, 851 San Mateo Road (the space formerly occupied by Open Hands). Speaking and signing books will be finalists and winners in various categories of the 2008 New Mexico Book Awards. Cookbook authors will provide samples from their books and cookies and punch will be served as well. 

Ample parking is available for this free event.

Literacy Volunteers of Santa Fe

This is the first of a series of monthly events to promote local authors, publishers and literacy programs. Literacy Volunteers of Santa Fe will be at the event with information for those who would like to tutor basic reading or English as a Second Language students. LVSF promotes reading as the key to personal development, stimulating critical and creative thinking as well as social understanding and economic improvement.
